Christmas Spirit
My Mom challenged me to do something nice for someone on her birthday. Don't get me wrong, my wife was the first one to get something nice done to her. I felt like there was something else that I could do.
Many of you know that 99% of my photos on my blog are of someone riding a BMX bike. Just recently, a local BMX rider (Mike Aitken) suffered major head trauma while filming for a new BMX video CLICK HERE. There has been a lot of support from people in the BMX industry to help pay for his very expensive medical bills. Well, after having thought for awhile, and with some creative help from friends I came up with a cool idea to help out Mike. I'm going to be auctioning off all of his covers that he’s gotten from his BMX carrier thus far and present them in a nice frame. If everything goes right, I will be able to have Mike sign the covers.
It was amazing to see the support from RIDE BMX and BMX PLUS. Before I finished talking with Jeff from RIDE he already had them packaged and on the way. I made Ben from PLUS go through his garage to find one of the magazines. It was his personal copy. Thanks Ben Crockett, Jeff Zelinski, Eddie Buckley, and Carly Hopkins.

Dew Tour in Salt Lake
Today was a good day. The new BMX PLUS that I just picked up with Kevin's ad also had coverage of the Dew Tour in Salt Lake City. This was my second time shooting the Dew Tour. Ben Crockett was nice enough to get me a second media pass so that I could get my wife in. It was a long 5 days but well worth the royal treatment ( royal treatment compared to the spectators). I had the opportunity to meet a lot of the athletes especially Mike Spinner ( who mistook me for a tourist photographer). By the time sunday night came around, I had a bunch of cool photos and a gnarly sunburn on my forehead.

new baby pictures
Shad wont post these so I will on his blog! But he took these cute pictures of Cru the other night for our baby announcements. I love them! But the one we didn't use (of Cru sleeping with his blanket around his head). Shad says it reminds him of Zoolander or something.
Thanks Shad! You are so talented

BYU vs. SDSU
I had the chance to shoot my first college football game. Awesome! You never really know just how big the BYU football team is until you're on the field with them. I'm 6'3'' and when I walked by the defense team, I had to look up at them. They are huge! Shooting photos has got to be the best seats in the house!

old photos from Vegas
Random fact:I had a bat run into my arm while shooting this photo of Josh. I've never seen a bat in the middle of the day let alone run into me!
I forgot I had these photos. I came across them the other day and thought that I would throw them up on the blog. Another reason why I'm posting these photos is because one the riders in one of the photos has something I want (video footage from years ago). This is an official bribe to get me that footage. BBBBBIIIIILLLLYYYY!!!!!!

Rob Wise
This has been a long time in the making. I finally had the chance to shoot photos with Rob. I was really excited especially with his amazing interview in RIDE BMX. Rob didn't let me down one bit. Rob is the most productive person that I've taken photos with. Oh yeah, my long last brother was riding with us. Apparently more than once I've been told that Adam Banton and I look like brothers. Yeah it would be fun to have him as a brother!

Having a little fun in the studio
For one of my classes we were asked to do a white-on-white (eventhough some of you might disagree with the photo). I thought I would have a little fun with it. If anyone doesn't know yet but my wife and I are expecting a boy in 18 days and my photos lately have been reflecting that. You can find directions on the internet for anything!

Redline Catalog
Front cover
Back cover
Just got the new Redline catalog straight from Las Vegas. Evan Moss at Redline did a great job with the layout and out did himself from last years catalog. Thanks to Tim Thompson for driving all the way out to Vegas and back to get me my very own copy and Fuzzy for giving me the opportunity to shoot the catalog. I shot the photos of Josh Hult and Fuzzy (both images are on the right of each photo).

Old photo
I was looking through a magazine the other day and came across a photo that has brought up some not so fond memories. Here are some things that went into this photo:
-this photo was the second attempt
-4 hours worth of preparation.
-12' ladder on top of a 4' deck is very scary. At one point I was on the very top step reaching out as far as I could. 5' quarter plus a 12' ladder equals a 17' fall to flat. Good thing I didn't fall.
-two packages of black and white construction paper that my wife was nice enough to help me cut into half.
-my friend John-eric was nice enough to let me use his 70-200 lens to shoot it with. I shouldn't have borrowed it because I ended up buying it later on.
Thanks goes out to Chris Arriaga for putting up with my idea, checkmate!
Dew Tour in Salt Lake
I'm getting really excited for the Dew Tour this week. Last year was amazing. These are the reasons why:
-Mike Aitken showed all the riders how to ride the course brakeless.
-Cameron White pulled the first backflip barspin tailwhip in a competition.
-Jamie Bestwick went 10' higher than everyone else and did tricks at the same height.
-I had the chance to talk to Chris Doyle.
Remember, these are scans out of a magazine

Arrive Magazine shoot with Mo Rocca
Now I'm allowd to spill the beans about the shoot in New York with Bryan Niven. Arrive Magazine wanted Bryan to shoot some portraits of Mo Rocca for an issue of theirs. Even though we only shot one day from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. we had the rest of the 5 days to see the sites. It was fun to work with Bryan. I owe him a pat on the back. Enjoy the photos
